Ezycoat Coarse Patch
Ezycoat Patch is a flexible, low-shrink patching compound suitable for setting joints between cement sheeting and patching imperfections in a render or concrete wall. Ezycoat Patch is formulated on acrylic polymer and selected fillers to provide excellent filling and low shrinkage characteristics. Ezycoat Patch features a special binder to give extra adhesion, flexibility and tensile strength.
EZYCOAT COARSE PATCH
Description: Ezycoat Coarse Patch is a highly flexible acrylic patching compound suitable for patching fiber cement sheet joints and other imperfections in render or concrete surfaces. When combined with Ezycoat Fiberglass reinforcing bandages it produces a strong but yet flexible bridge over joins between a variety of different claddings & panel systems.
Surface Application: Suitable for application to Fibre cement sheeting, pre rendered surfaces, AFS, Ritek , Rendered Polystyrene Cladding, Koolwall Panel, Tilt Concrete & Modakboard* Refer to Technical Data Sheets (TDS). or Ezyspec for application procedures.
Mixing Procedure: Ready for use from the pail.
Application Method: Ezycoat Coarse Patch is applied by Steel Trowel and either finished off the trowel or sponged to suit.
Packaging: 15 Lit. Plastic Pails.

Ezycoat Coarse Patch is suitable for carrying out general patching of concrete and masonry surfaces & filling imperfections up to approximately 3mm. It is possible to build up areas thicker with a series of coats, allowing sufficient drying time between coats.
Edges can be feathered out to allow for a smooth transition. Due to the flexible nature of Ezycoat Coarse Patch it is not partial to sanding. Should the patch need to be sanded it should be over coated with Ezycoat Smooth Patch (refer to Ezyspec.
For Ezycoat Smooth Patch). The excellent adhesive properties of Ezycoat Coarse Patch means that tools should be cleaned frequently with water during application
Ezycoat Coarse Patch can be applied directly out of the bucket by use of a steel trowel. In some instances to assist with drying and trowelling a maximum of 10% of GP cement by volume of Ezycoat Coarse Patch to be used can be added. When patching joins in panels of texture fibre cement sheeting it is always recommended that a fibreglass reinforcing product such as Ezycoat Fibreglass mesh bandage be used to bridge & reinforce the join in addition to the Ezycoat Coarse Patch. For specific methods of application of Ezycoat Coarse Patch to different building mediums please refer to the Ezycoat EZYBUILD SPEC. specifications.
Ezycoat Coarse Patch is best finished with a steel trowel and applied past the join so to allow for thinning off of the product and allowing for a smooth transition between the base product and the Ezycoat Coarse Patch. Should the join or patch require additional filling, it may be necessary to apply an additional coat of Ezycoat Coarse Patch. For areas that are to receive a paint application only, additional attention may be required with the finishing process with the additional application of a coat of Ezycoat Smooth Patch.
It will be the tradesperson responsibility to ensure sufficient coats have been used and finished correctly to accept a paint finish and produce an aesthetically pleasing finish. If in doubt please contact our offices before proceeding with any paint applications. Ezycoat coarse Patch should be allowed to dry for at least 12 hours before recoating or applying a texture finish. It will be the contractor’s responsibility it ensures that the area being coated is waterproof & dry and that no moisture can enter the rear of the coated section before or after the application process.
If in doubt It may be necessary for the contractor to check the moisture content of the surface does not exceed WME 15%.
Due to the many different proprietary building systems available on the market, it is highly recommended that you contact our offices and request a copy of the Ezycoat specification for the building system you are using. EZYBUILD SPECS are readily available upon request either from our company representatives or our offices.

Ezycoat Coarse Patch is to be applied by suitably licensed persons holding a license for this trade as recognised by the legislative building authority for the relevant state to which the work is being carried out. |Important Notes||Do not apply in temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius or 24 hrs.prior to or after wet &rainy conditions. Do not apply in moist conditions. All walls must be free of moisture prior to application with a WME of no more than 15%. All surfaces should be cleaned and free of any contaminant, releasing agent, fungal growth which may affect the performance of these coatings. Any imperfections which may become visible in the finished surface should be patched and levelled with Ezycoat Patching compounds. Any structural imperfections and/or cracks will need to stabilised prior to any further applications.The durability of the product in its original confection is guaranteed for 8monthsas long as it is not exposed to direct sunlight or temperatures below 6 degrees.Ezycoat Coarse Patch is not suitable for use in areas prone to water logging, submersion, continually damp and/or below ground. Walls were Ezycoat Coarse Patch is to be applied must be free draining. In the case of retaining walls the rear of the wall must be engineered to prevent any penetration of moisture or water through the wall in to the rear of the Ezycoat Coarse Patch . Failure to do so will result in damage to the Ezycoat Coarse Patch and is not covered by warranty.
