Ezycoat Ceiling Texture is ideal as a finishing coat to suitably prepared surfaces such as off the form concrete, Fibrocement sheeting and a variety of masonry surfaces. Ezycoat ceiling texture is suitable only for horizontal surfaces such as ceilings and soffits and is not recommended to be used on external walls, floors or roofs.
The final product will produce a protective membrane which is durable, and hard wearing. When using Ezycoat Ceiling Texture ensure that it is being applied in a well-ventilated area, or alternatively ensure mechanical ventilation is provided.
OFF THE FORM CONCRETE
Ensure that all form work joints have been grinded back and cleaned so the surface is dry & free of chemical releasing agents, dust or contaminants. All form work joins should then be coated with Ezycoat Smooth Patch (see Ezycoat Smooth Patch Technical Data Sheet-TDS). All grinding to joins should be carried out prior to application of the Ezycoat Smooth Patch. Ensure that joints are free of grinding dust prior to the application of, Ezycoat Smooth Patch.
Approximately 12 Hrs after the Ezycoat Smooth Patch application the surface should be inspected for any imperfections and may need some sanding back if necessary otherwise the surface should then be rolled with a base coat of Ezycoat Masonry Sealer (see Ezycoat Masonry Sealer Technical Data Sheet-TDS).
Once touch dry (approx. 2 to 4 Hrs). the surface is ready to accept the final application of Ezycoat Ceiling Texture which is applied by a Heavy Texture or Spaghetti Roller. The texture should be applied at a constant rate, so as to maintain even coating thickness on the surface. The type of finish desired will be dependent on the type of roller being used and the post application process i.e., Stipple or Mop Finish etc. It is always recommended that a wet edge be maintained during the rolling process, to avoid roll marks in the finish. Typically this is a minimum of a two man operation involving, one man applying the Ezycoat Ceiling Texture and another man creating the finish weather rolled or mopped.
